Meet our bucks!

We spend a lot of time showing off our does and their kids, but let’s not forget about the bucks! Bucks provide 50% of a herd’s genetics, so we are picky about choosing our bucks. We want to produce kids that are outstanding both in appearance and in milk production. We also want to maintain a “clean” herd where our goats test negative for CAE, CL, and Johnes—so we’re extra-careful when purchasing.

We’re proud to introduce our newest buck, Orion (from Goddard Farm, Kansas). The Goddards have raised purebred Nubians since 1989 and twenty of their does have been included in the American Dairy Goat Association’s annual lists of Top Ten Breed Leaders. Orion is the grandson of a Goddard doe, and Kismet Marvins Smooth Operator (Kismet Nubians, Virginia). Kismet has earned both Superior Genetics and Permanent Grand Champion Status. Orion’s dam is a 5*M doe which means she and her previous four generations have met standards for milk production. Orion will breed this year’s does, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he produces.

Storm has already proven his ability to produce beautiful does. He has great genetics. His dam is a 6*M doe, Blissberry She’s the Bomb, who has achieved a superior genetics rating in the top15% of the production index. His sire is Hoanbu PS Storm in Motion and is a *B Star Sire.

We’ve fortunate to have two outstanding bucks whose strong genetics are matched by their friendly and gentle dispositions. It’s soon breeding season…
