Free range Eggs

Cold outside, but nice and snug in the chicken house!

Our chicken house was designed and super insulated so that the chickens generate enough heat to keep the building warm. In this bitter winter we haven’t had one day where eggs and water froze! Pretty amazing, but our chickens are sure looking forward to some beautiful spring days in the sunshine. (Aren’t we all?)IMG_1793

Kids and eggs copyWhat are free range eggs? Free range means that our chickens are truly free to roam around our whole farm. It’s more than “cage free” where even though chickens are not housed in a cage, they are often limited to movement inside a building. Free range chickens live as a natural part of the environment—scratching the soil, picking up bugs, doing their “chicken thing.” They eggs are “nest run,” coming straight from the hen house. They are washed as needed, but not graded or candled. There may be an occasional shell imperfection or blog spot, but these do not affect the quality of the egg itself. We ask that you return the egg carton with your next order.

We are now delivering eggs within the city of Northfield. Minimum order for delivery 3 dozen.

We are not accepting new egg customers at this time. The chickens can’t keep up.
